Well, Matt makes it work and what we love about him is his humility. He’s just a regular dude with a cool blog who’s sharing his love of travelling with y’all. He doesn’t see himself as an expert – he’s a traveller who blogs. That’s it!

Fortunately for us all, he’s actually a pretty cool blogger.

View from the Wing is Gary Leff’s brainchild. Who is Gary? He’s a frequent flyer who uses his blog to keep you up to date with all things travel related.

Lost With Purpose

Lost with Purpose is a travel blog co-founded and maintained by Alex and Sebastien. The places they get to are the – shall we say – less traveled parts of the world.

So instead of Paris and Tokyo, they show you the delights of Pakistan and Iran.

For anyone who’s always wanted to see these countries but are a bit wary, Lost with Purpose is the perfect blog. Alex and Sebastien offer plenty of advice and information on the places they visit, and they show you another – better – side to countries that are suffering from bad publicity in the media.

Of course, Alex and Sebastien aren’t blind. They know that some parts of the world are more perilous than others. But what they want to show you is that you can visit these countries and still have a good time if you do the right things.

Two Bad Tourists

Two Bad Tourists are a proud, young gay couple who admit that they are also a pair of bad tourists. But as they show with their blog, there’s actually nothing wrong with being a bad tourist!

Auston and David don’t hide the fact that they are gay. In fact, they flaunt it on their blog because they know that the world perceives the LGBT community differently. As such, they use their blog to help fellow LGBT people travel to far-flung places and have a great time without running into trouble. They even have an entire section dedicated to Gay City Guides.

Matt – OMG another Matt – is the man behind Landlopers.

Who is he? He’s a traveller who likes the finer things in life, such as experiential luxury travel. He uses his blog to document his travels around the world and showcase how he lives the good life.

Matt isn’t the kind of dude who travels with a backpack slung over his shoulders. He prefers to travel in style and he’s visited 70 different countries sprawled across 7 different continents.

Two Monkeys Travel

The pair behind Two Monkeys Travel are actually a loved up pair of newlyweds who lovingly call themselves monkeys. Cute? Maybe. But what’s more important is that they love to travel – and love to share their experiences and tips with you.

And, boy, are they experienced! They’ve visited more than 70 countries together and definitely have both the love bug and the travel bug.

They like the finer things in life. They love an adventure, but they also love a bit of luxury, too. So you might find them rock climbing and camping out in the wilds one minute, and checking into a five star hotel the next.

They also use their blog to share tips related to visa. Also, if you’re considering going abroad to volunteer, there are plenty of tips on that subject on here, too.

What we love about The Expeditioner is that Matt made up a new word for his blog and still gets found on Google. High five, Matt!

The Poor Traveler

The Poor Traveler is actually two poor travellers – Vins and Yoshke – who’s aim is to help fellow travellers like themselves travel more often on a budget.

After all, one of the things that prevents many of us from travelling more often is a lack of funds. We want to travel more but we just don’t have the cash. And we’re always left scratching our heads, wondering how on earth people our age with worse jobs than us can travel so often!

Well, they probably read blogs like The Poor Traveller. That said, these guys admit that they’re not hardcore backpackers. Instead, they’re merely casual travellers. However, they’ve been to a lot of places and their website comes with a detailed guide on various countries.

The pair have also made mistakes and use their blog to show you how can avoid the same misadventures as them.

The Travelling Light

We think that Travelling Light is such an evocative name for a blog. Of course, it refers to one who travels light, but it also makes us think wistfully of distant lights in the dark that guide travels to their next destination.

Katie is the travel blogger behind The Travelling Light. She’s a nomadic freelance writer who travels to places that aren’t often mentioned. Hers is the road less travelled – to use a popular phrase – and she particularly enjoys visiting places that she calls “soulful.”

She’s not on the road all year round, however. While she refers to herself as a nomadic freelancer, she divides her year 50/50 between the road and her home, which she shares with her boyfriend.

Earlier, we mentioned a blog written by a man called Gary Leff who knows his stuff about flyer points. Another dude who knows his stuff in this area is Ben Schlappig, who goes by the name Lucky.

Ben does a LOT of flying. In fact, he flies 400,000 miles a year.

Seriously, is he ever on the ground?!

Flying so much means that Ben knows every trick there is to know. If anyone – even Gary Leff – knows more about credit car points and miles than Ben, well, we’ll be damned!

Ben knows the travel industry inside out, and if you’re a bit stuck for something, all you need to do is pop over to his blog to see if he’s got the answers.

Okay Ben and Gary know their stuff when it comes to airports, points and airlines, but Johnny is the man to go to if you want to get the best flight deal.

Johnny’s scope of interest goes beyond just bargain flight deals, though. He uses his blog to keep you up to date with the weather situation in specific regions and he’s also pretty good with ephemeral credit card deals.

Flirting With The Globe is Karisa Klee’s baby. It’s a travel blog dedicated to those of us who simply don’t have the time to fall head over heels in love with the world and get into a long-term relationship with it. Instead, all we can do is flirt with the globe from time to time and have a fling!

If your vacation time is strictly limited to a few weeks at the most each year, Karisa is here to show you how you can still have a fine time travelling the world.

Karisa herself leads the way. She work in law as an attorney, and as such she doesn’t have a great deal of time to go travelling. But she doesn’t sit around moaning, and neither does she wistfully spend her time dreaming about what could happen. Instead, she uses her spare hours wisely and has so far travelled to around 40 different countries.

Solo Traveller

Travelling alone isn’t easy and many of us think of reasons not to do it, but  as Janice shows in her blog – Solo Traveller – sometimes we just need a reason to give us the push to fly solo.

For Janice, it was personal loss that finally convinced her to travel by herself back in 2009. She hasn’t looked back since.

Once she hit the road, Janice decided that the best way to stay in touch with “someone” and not feel so alone was by starting a blog. Solo Traveller was born, but she then decided to take it one step further. After all, a blog was just her mouthpiece; she was talking at people rather than with them. As such, she decided to turn Solo Traveller into a full-on community.

And that’s what it is today: It’s a place for solo travellers to gather together and share their own advice and experiences on the blog.

Jules and Christine have a mega thirst for epic adventures, and you’ll be able to catch them all on their blog. But what they want the most out of life is awesome frigging memories!

Roads and Kingdoms

Roads and Kingdoms sounds like a pretty grandiose name for a travel blog – but this is not a normal travel blog.

For example, one recent post was called “underground With South Korea’s Illegal Tattoo Artists”, while another was titled “Can Mexican Corn Be Saved?”

Interesting topic titles! And they might have you asking, “is this even a travel blog at all?”

Technically, it’s an indie journal that covers more than just travel. As you might have also guessed, it covers topics like culture and politics.

That said, it does cover travel too, and it attempts to give you an insight into what to expect when you visit different countries and amp up your knowledge so that you can have a more enjoyable experience.

Think of Roads and Kingdom as the travel blog for folk who are really into their politics and you’re pretty much there.

Girl Tweets World

Come on – is there a better name for a blog than this?

If you haven’t seen 90’s teen sitcom Boy Meets World, you won’t get this fab pop culture reference. If you have – it’s amazing, right?

Girl Tweets World is maintained by Jayne, and it’s actually one of the biggest travel blogs in the world. In fact, Jayne has already won the highly coveted British Travel Press Award for Travel Blogger of the year, so she clearly knows her stuff.

Jayne was born in Britain but she nows lives in Australia. We say “lives” because, of course, she also does an awful lot of travelling.

She tweet a lot, too!

Jayne visits some really stylish destinations and eats some very cool food. If that sounds like something you’d be down with, you can check her out here.

Chris still produces new shows for his podcast, and he also blogs a lot. Both his podcast and his blog are award-winning and he uses them to help you plan your next adventure. The biggest conundrum he helps you solve is … “but where should we go next?|”

The blog now also includes videos and is sure to help you plot your next adventure, be it in Bali, Mexico or Japan.

We love this name for a blog and think it might just be the best one in this list.

It was created by a female traveler called Trish who uses her blog to show you all the life lessons she’s picked up – and, indeed, is still picking up – on her travels over the years.

Trish is a Millennial and she also likes to share her thoughts on how Millennials have grown up, and how they prefer – in general – to spend their money on experiences rather than material things.

Trish loves to immerse herself in different languages and cultures and shows us what it’s like to cook, eat, speak and, yes, sleep in a world that will seem alien to so many people.

Even if you don’t visit the places Trish has been to, her blog is still well worth a read simply because of how fascinating it is.

Mrs O – otherwise known as Ana Silvia O’Reilly – is the award winning luxury travel blogger behind Mrs O Around The World.

It’s now 6 years since Ana launched her blog, and it’s become known for some stunning photos of some stunning locations.

Jeremy Scott Fraser – come on, how amazing is that name? He sounds like an explorer! – is an adventurer and travel blogger who’s been featured in the National Geographic. That’s some credibility right there! He’s also an ace photographer who takes stunning photos of the many beautiful places he visits.

A lot of crazy stuff seems to happen to Jeremy when he’s on the road and he shares it all with you on his blog. He also gives you loads of helpful tips and advice on how to follow in his footsteps and shares some pretty gripping stories.

Allane is the travel blogger behind Packing My Suitcase, a blog she uses to share her obsession with travelling.

Allane is one of those travellers who loves to plan. But once she’s out there, she’s as free as anyone else who goes travelling.

What we love about this blog is that you can really feel the passion leaping out at you from the screen. Allane is Brazilian and, as well as visiting a vast amount of countries, she’s also lived in as many as 5 different ones. We’ve always wanted to be someone’s travel muse, but does it mean we get to go travelling with them … for free? We hope so!

Either way, Kristin is the gal behind Be My Travel Muse. She’s a traveller who uses her blog to detail her many adventures.

As a solo traveller, there are lots of issues that can pop up for Kristen and many others – not least loneliness – and she uses her blog to show how you can overcome them.

If you’re female and want to travel solo more often, Kristen shows you the way.

That said, you might not want to totally follow in her footsteps. Kristen quit her 9-5 job and stuffed everything she had left in her life into a carry-on bag and hit the road. But even if you just want to go solo for a month, her blog is well worth checking out.

The Gypsy Nester

The Gypsy Nester is a travel blog maintained by active baby boomers David and Veronica who, despite their advancing years, are in no way ready to stop travelling and settle down just yet. And we salute them for it!

If you’re heading into the twilight years of your life yourself and wondering if you should get back on the road, this blog needs to be your inspiration.

There’s a lot we love about David and Veronica. We thrive off their enthusiasm and their quirky way of telling stories. We love the fun they clearly have, their sweet bond and their videos that are both informative and entertaining.

Mara is the brains – and the mom – behind The Mother of All Trips. She uses her blog to record her travel destinations, but she also uses it as a memoir of sorts.

We kinda get the impression that her blog acts as a sort of catharsis for Mara. She wants to learn a lot about the world and her place in it, but she also wants to have a whole load of fun, too!

Here’s a quote where she talks about flying with a baby (you will find all kinds of useful advice like this on her site):

“A hungry baby is usually a grumpy baby, so feeding is one way to keep baby happy on board. Plus, it’s hard to cry or scream when there is a nipple or teething biscuit in your mouth. If your flight times are close to feeding times, try to hold off until you’re on board, as eating on a plane has other benefits for tiny travelers.

“Babies have narrower Eustachian tubes, and changes in cabin pressure during take-off and landing can cause extra pain for them. Swallowing helps relieve the pressure, and that can come in the form of nursing, a bottle, or a pacifier. If your baby is a lap infant, they are supposed to be held in the burping position during these times, but you can certainly breastfeed in this position.

“When traveling with a baby under two, you are exempt from carry-on liquid restrictions. Keep all of baby’s food and drink together in an insulated bag so it’s easy to show for security inspections, and use frozen puree instead of ice packs to keep it all cool. In case of delays, bring at least two more meals than you think you will need. Before your trip, get baby used to room temperature food and bottles — it will save you the hassle of heating while you’re en route.”

Jones Around the World

Don’t get us wrong, Jones Around the World is an okay name for a travel blog, but since the dude’s name is Dave Anderson, we just have to question where it came from.

Dave is a traveller who operates on a budget. He’s not rich but he’s literally been everywhere. If he can’t inspire you to pack up and go travelling on a budget, no one can.

His blog is insanely useful. On here, you’ll find extensive backpacking guides, music festival bucket lists, loads of photos, travel itineraries and – of course – a blog.

Dave literally never stops travelling or blogging, which is ace for him and us.

The Blonde Abroad

The Blonde Abroad seems pretty self-explanatory: It’s the travel chronicles of a blonde abroad, right?

Its actually a lot more than that. As it says on the home page – set against a photo backdrop of a gorgeous, bikini-clad blonde on an sun-soaked beach – “an award winning female travel and lifestyle blog, featuring travel tips, fashion and photography from around the world.”

As well as a typical blog, there are also lots of cool videos on here that would make you jealous if you yourself wasn’t planning a trip anytime soon.

Of course, men can read the blog too, but it’s very much aimed at women who want to travel alone, but who at the moment might lack the courage and know-how to do so.

Kiersten – who runs the blog – is here to help you out. She’s travelled extensively (she’s visited more than 50 countries!) and she knows how travel solo as a woman. In other words, she’s got your back.

Matt shows you how it’s done, where to go, and even if you don’t actually visit NZ yourself, you’ll still get a massive kick out of reading his own stories of exploration and checking out his photos.

Camels and Chocolate is such an intriguing name for a travel blog that we just had to check it out.

And we won’t lie – we were kinda hoping that it was more about chocolate than camels.

So what is it about and why is it so named?

Well, it’s Kristin’s blog, a woman who, well, loves to travel! She uses her blog to share with you her personal experiences in faraway countries.

What we love about Kristen is that whatever she does – be it riding camels – and whatever she eats – chocolate in a Turkish cafe, anyone – she doesn’t use her blog to tell you what you should do, too. Instead, she hopes to inspire you to get off your own sofa and go and do what she does – travel and live the life that you want to live!

The hardest bit about going travelling with kids is the planning bit, isn’t it?

The irony is that, if we don’t plan, we won’t travel. So we stay at home. Boo!

Want to go see some awesome places? Of course you do. And Will Tang is just the man to point you in the right direction.

His blog is dedicated to places you’ve always wanted to go to, but – for whatever reason – still haven’t been to yet.

Will tends to focus on so-called “hidden gems” – locations that are to be found off the beaten track, as it were. He wants you to stop being jealous of him and his travels, and to get up off your butt and make your friends jealous of you!

Oh, and Will likes a bit of luxury on his travels, but he shows you how you can travel in style for cheap.

Camels, goats … whatever next?!

Goats on the Road is an award winning travel blog maintained by Nick and Dariece. Their aim with their blog is to use it to convince others – you – to make travelling a lifestyle.

Nick and Dariece live a location independent lifestyle and they’ve really made it work. If you’ve ever been at all curious to know how to make it work, their blog is definitely worth following. They share advice on how to make cash while out on the road and – perhaps more importantly – they also share advice on how to save cash while out on the road.

As well as being actual nomads, Dariece and Nick are also digital nomads who are very much in tune with online marketing. They produce a ton of content and share weekly videos that should ultimately make you as excited about a nomadic existence as they are.

Nicole is the brains behind Jet Set Family – she’s the Jet Set Mom!

The name of her blog comes from her luxury PR background, and she clearly has a lot of love for the jet set lifestyle.

Then, when she had a baby, it was time to bring Jet Set Tot along to her and her partners jet set lifestyle!

Her blog began life as an online diary of sorts that detailed her family’s life on the road/plane, before evolving into a luxury travel blog that now welcomes contributions from other bloggers who enjoy the same kind of lifestyle.

Nomadic Boys

As you’ll have noticed by now, a lot of the travellers in this article are self-professed nomads. They’re location independent travellers who are married to the road.

Most of them are solo travellers, but Stefan and Sebastien – the loved up couple behind Nomadic Boys – are two men who hail from Europe, but who can currently be found travelling around Argentina.

These guys are super cute and super hot in the travel industry right now, which they are taking by storm. The aim with their blog is to encourage other gay couples to do what they did: Leave their comfort zone and go travelling.

It comes as no surprise to us that the man behind a blog with “Banter” in it is British. To give credit to the guy, however, Chris does now live in Australia (we reckon he might have got tired of all that British rain).

Drew hails from Arizona, but despite all that year-round sunshine and warmth, he hasn’t hung around there too much. Drew travels a LOT. He claims to have visited around 120 different countries since 2012 and has studied in the Czech Republic. He’s also lived in a small village in South Korea, but his all-time fav country is the Philippines.

Here’s what he has to say about the Philippines:

“The most important aspect for me, and the first thing I look for when travelling is absolutely the people, they make or break my experience. The Philippines is really my favorite country in the world. I just love their hospitality, their over-the-top friendliness, they are always so welcoming and happy to meet you, and it is great that they all speak English, so there’s not a huge cultural barrier there. I also look for interesting cultures while travelling, I always try to go off the beaten path. These things are much more important to me than the food, the prices or the weather in the country .”

Oooh, we love how the title of this blog is spelled. We’re suckers for a bit of word play!

Boarders and Adventures is Becki’s blog. She’s a British Travel Press award winner who clearly knows what she’s talking about. Her aim with her travel blog is to change peoples’ perceptions of roads less travelled. In other words, she goes to places she claims are misunderstood, and seeks to show us that there’s a LOT that can be enjoyed in these countries.

Becki also uses her blog to educate people on the various historical, social, cultural and political backdrops that make up the places she visits so that, when others follow in her footsteps, they can travel with greater responsibility. Hey, she’s just looking out for us.

The Planet D

We’re wondering why this travel blog is called the Planet D, but because the couple behind it are called Dave and Deb, we’re thinking that that might be why!

Their motto is “adventure is for everyone” and it’s their mission to show you that you – yes, you – can be an adventurer, too. As they put it, you don’t need to be “you don’t have to be an uber-athlete, adrenaline junkie or part of the ultra rich to be an adventurer. All you need is the desire.”

We like the cut of their gib, and we think that this is a blog many of our readers will be impressed by. Moreover, it’s highly likely that Dave and Deb are just like you. They weren’t born ready-made travellers. In fact, they had careers and only started going on adventures later in life.

Okay, no, we’re not sure about the name of this blog either, but it’s named after its creator, Erin Bender.

Eric has been a self-professed nomad since 2012. She’s visited over 70 different countries, but at least she hasn’t done this alone. As well as her faithful readership, Erin has also had her husband and her 2 kids by her side.

Together, they left the family home in Perth, Australia 6 years ago and have been revelling in the nomadic existence ever since. Their journeys have taken them all over the world and all we can think is – how amazing must this be for the children?!

The great thing about Erin and her family is that they don’t plan anything – they just go ahead and do it! And whether they’re staying in cheap hostels or 5 star hotels, they always have a lot of fun.

Warning, though: If you get jealous easy, it’s probably not a good idea to check this blog.

Jungles in Paris is an intriguing name for a travel blog, and it certainly got us in the Beauty and Tips office wondering … are there jungles in Paris that we don’t know about?!

Of course there aren’t!

What Jungles in Paris as a blog sets out to do is highlight the subjects that most people don’t want to talk about. In other words, topics such as endangerment and extinction. This could be wildlife, a destination or even a local culture.

It’s an eye opening blog that educates and if, nothing else, gets you thinking. The aim of the blog is to give you an insight into some of the places you’re visiting, getting you to think more about what’s really going on there and what you can do to help.
